Dr. Rak, this reminds me of how the “brake” in the nervous system gets worn out & with time, the body just weathers and does not handle stress well. I remember learning this a while ago in relation to racism & infant mortality. Now you are saying that the ‘stress-sugar loop’ weathers the body, and specifically the liver and all its attending hormones. I get it! I live it!

I see now how spikes in blood sugar at 61 years old is a long time in the making…although definitely not intractable. Thank you big time!

This is something I’ve been working on myself. I get tight muscles and store stress in places like shoulders and calves. And I realized that I tense up without realizing, then never let that back out without massage or foam rolling. So what I’m attempting to do is notice when I tense up and get that stress reaction. Since I’m a recovered food binger, I know that just because I don’t succumb to a craving, that doesn’t mean there hasn’t been other things going on. I have measured my blood sugar and seen a spike even when I’m not eating!

You're "bang on", Dr Rak, but there's more!

Check out what the Cortisol does to Deiodinases, #1 & #3: it bombs your Intracellular T3 and you end up with the Low-T3 Syndrome! (Aka chronic fatigue).
