Dr. Rak here. On this episode of The Health Feast, I'm excited to welcome Charles Inniss, DPT, PCC, NBC-HWC. Charles is a Nationally Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach and a Professional Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation. He holds a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Boston University. He is an expert in cultivating optimism and mental wellness, and his passion for positive psychology has led him to help others transform their lives.

I first met Charles at the annual American College of Lifestyle Medicine Conference last fall. On the opening night, he participated in a panel on health coaching, which served as a lightbulb moment for me regarding how we think about mindset. His insights were not only enlightening but also deeply inspiring, leading to our meeting and forging an incredible friendship.

Charles is affable and humble. He’s a perpetual optimist, and his positive energy is incredibly contagious.

In today's episode, we delve into several key topics, including the power of mindset and how it affects our overall well-being. Charles shares some practical tips and the daily mental workouts that he uses to foster optimism in himself and his clients.

We also talk about how to find meaning in our work, even in highly stressful environments. Charles offers valuable insights on navigating work stress by shifting our perspective from seeing challenges as threats to viewing them as opportunities for growth.

Additionally, Charles emphasizes the importance of self-awareness in emotional and mental wellness, sharing techniques to help others cultivate this foundational skill. We explore the role of gratitude and self-compassion in building a resilient mindset and how these practices can lead to a more joyful and peaceful life.

This episode is filled with Charles’ personal anecdotes and actionable advice for transforming stress, depression, and anxiety into joy and peace. You may have to relisten, and I recommend having something to take notes with because there is so much good stuff in this one.
