RAK ON: The Power of Recharging with Others
Your weekly dose of π³ Roots π§πΎ Awareness & π Kindness
Hey RAK Family-
This past week, I had the privilege of attending LM2023, the annual meeting of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. I went with high expectations, having experienced the magic of this event before, and I wasn't disappointed. I'm still floating after four jam-packed days. The conference was an incredible blend of learning, connecting, and, yes, even movement. All the meals were whole-food plant-based and delicious, and we even braved a 14-degree morning for our traditional 5K run ππ½.
What a gift it was to be with 2000+ people, all vibrating with the best intentions to create a system of healthcare that supports the best health of our patients, communities, and planet. Returning home, I found myself still 'floating' in the aftermath of such an energizing event. This lingering feeling, even five days on, underscores how powerful an experience like this was. It was inspiring and deeply rejuvenating.
There's something incredibly special about sharing space with others aligned in purpose and vision. Each conversation, each story shared, acts like a charge to our internal batteries, sparking personal passion. Now, let's RAK our week by harnessing the power of connection and shared purpose in our lives.
Roots Reflection π³:
Reflect on groups in your life that recharge your spirit. How do these connections enhance your well-being and sense of belonging?
Awareness Action π§πΎ:
Engage in mindful listening during group interactions this week. Be fully present and observe the dynamics of the conversation, noticing how being part of these groups makes you feel.
Kindness Opportunity π:
This week, reach out with a simple 'thank you' to someone who's brightened your day. Whether it's a fitness instructor, a family member, or a teammate, let them know their impact. These small acknowledgments reinforce powerful community bonds in your life and strengthen them with positivity.
