Dr. Rak (“rock”) here. On this episode of The Health Feast, Po and I are honored to welcome Dr. Tom Rifai, a pioneering voice in the field of lifestyle medicine and a relentless truth-teller in the fight against misinformation.

Dr. Tom Rifai is the founder and CEO of Reality Meets Science Inc. (RMS), a company that champions evidence-based lifestyle medicine programs designed to transform lives. With over 20,000 hours of clinical experience, Tom’s insights are as profound as they are practical, making him a leading figure in the preventative and lifestyle medicine community. But what sets Tom apart isn’t just his expertise—it’s his courage to speak out against the misinformation plaguing the health space today.

In our conversation, we dive deep into Tom’s personal and professional journey. We explore the various areas of his Flex5 Lifestyle system, which is Tom’s methodology that empowers individuals to achieve healthy longevity through sustainable behavior changes. The Flex5 system focuses on five key areas: psychology, nutrition, physical activity, environments, and accountability—providing a comprehensive, flexible approach to health that adapts to individual needs.

Tom also opens up about his battle with binge eating disorder, a struggle he’s faced and overcome, and how the loss of his youngest brother to the same condition fuels his current mission.

Tom’s no-nonsense approach to health is a breath of fresh air in a world where sensationalized and often harmful trends dominate the discourse. He shares his thoughts on the dangers of diet fads like the carnivore and keto diets and why they may do more harm than good. We also discuss the importance of understanding your “why” in health and how self-love and self-respect are foundational to any successful wellness journey.

Prepare to be informed, inspired, and challenged as you listen to this powerful episode with Dr. Tom Rifai. His message is clear: health isn’t just about following the latest trend; it’s about finding what truly works for you based on evidence, experience, and a deep understanding of your own life’s purpose.

Live Well and RAK On,

Dr. Rak 👊🏽
